Today, as we celebrate Earth day, I would like for you to think of your fondest childhood places and activities and I bet you would most often recall memories of playing outside in your backyard, memiories of running around the ball park or barefoot through the fields. You probably recalled memories of family vacations to the beach or to the moutains and I hope as you find yourself immerse in the memories you also remember and marveled at the natural beauty of these places. “Our outdoor spaces provide a sense of peace and add immeasurably to our quality of life. They give us a chance to experience nature and to be around wildlife, and they fuel our imaginations and our spirits.” Council on Environment Quality.
For me these places and adventures ignite in me, as a parent,my sense of duty to protect our environment, to preserve it for my children and future generations. While today is the official celebration of Earth Day, it’s not something we should do on only one day. We should do it every day. Let’s all do our part and Reduce, Reuse, and Recylce. Happy Earth Day!!
