bulls, and cubs, and bears…oh my

It’s with a heavy heart that I announce we are moving to Chicago. My very amazing, wonderful and uber terrific husband was offered an opportunity that our family simply can not refuse. After 4 years in Georiga, I have met some incredible clients and friends. We will miss everyone terribly, but as the saying goes….”When one door closes, another opens.” ~Alexander Graham Bell.

I will absolutely miss the south. I’ve lived and grown up in the south (minus the 5 years in Colorado) and most all of my family still lives in Florida. But I am very excited to move to a new part of the country. New places for us to explore and new adventures waiting to be uncovered.

I will be wrapping up my sessions for August, and then focus on getting our family moved and settled. Unfortunately, I will not restart my children/families portrait business there. I absolutely love what I do, and will miss all the smiling faces, but with Ethan starting Kindergarten, I will be focusing more of my time in the schools. I will however, continue to take limited wedding commissions. So you haven’t seen the last of me and my work just yet.

To all of my amazing clients – thank you so very much from the bottom of my heart. Thank you for trusting me, supporting me and giving me the opportunity to be apart of your lives. I truly feel honored to have watched so many families grow. And knowing that the majority of my business was built by your referrals to family and friends – indeed it was the highest form of compliment.  Additionally, if you have contacted me for a fall session and/or already have a session scheduled for the fall, no worries, I will see you then.

Of course, no post would be complete without a picture, here is the amazing couple I photographed this past weekend. Stay tuned for more pictures from their wonderful wedding weekend.

Blake and Emily, these two cuties always keep me on my toes and this session was no different. But with all their running around they would pause for a quick smile…thank goodness.

Michelle and Jim, as always it’s great seeing you all. The kids are getting so big and they did such a fantastic job. I hope you enjoyed your sneak peek and I’ll have the rest of your images to you soon.

Introducing sweet baby James, just 3 months old and big sister Kirsten who I photographed this past spring. It was yet another hot day. We were able to get a few pictures outside but not without having many breaks back inside to cool off. They both made me work for their smiles, but so worth it – how beautiful are their smiles?

Lauren and Russ, thank you for another great session. It was fun seeing you all again and playing “interior decorator.” I hope you enjoyed your sneak peek. I’ll have the rest of your images to you soon.

Great name, right? Well I might be a bit biased. Meet 8 month old Ethan and of course, you might remember his beautiful mommy whom I photographed when she was 8 months pregnant. It must have been one of the hottest days of the summer – heat index of 101 degrees, but that didn’t stop us from hitting the White Columns Golf Club so that Ethan could sport his most adorable golf outfit.

Sonja and Josh, it was so nice to see you both again. Ethan is adorable. And what a trooper he was out there in the heat. I hope you enjoyed your sneak peek. I’ll have the rest of your images to you soon.
